Construction Therapy

Construction therapy, sometimes known as Lego therapy, is a great way to develop children's social and communication skills by creating opportunities to develop turn taking, language, listening, problem solving, joint attention, conversational skills and resilience.

In the therapy there are three parts to play. The engineer, the supplier and the builder.

This therapy can be tailored to the group or individual's needs. Starting with simple exercises, then gradually moving to more challenging builds through teamwork and problem-solving.

The therapy is ideal for children aged 5 to 11, but can be adapted for older children, including those with special needs.

Construction Therapy can run from 6 weeks to a whole academic year depending on children's needs. Sessions are usually about 45 minutes in length. They can be delivered with a group of three children or to a family struggling to come together.
